This is exactly why I bought it: the engine bay. Mine had a layer of dust and greasy road grime around the cover and nearby components. The focused steam loosened the buildup in the tight areas so I could wipe it away instead of scrubbing forever. The difference was very noticeable.

Used it for a deeper engine-bay clean and it worked really well on the dirty plastic covers and narrow spaces. The steam breaks up the dusty, oily film so the follow-up wipe is much easier. It reaches places that are awkward to clean with a regular brush.
I like having the steam adjustment right on the unit. I use a stronger setting for stubborn grime around the wheels and engine-bay surfaces, then work more carefully on interior trim and crevices. The controls are easy to understand and switching levels is quick.
The handheld controls are very simple, which I like when I am moving around the car. I can adjust the steam from the handle and use the narrow nozzle for the console, door jambs and engine-bay crevices. It is straightforward to operate and does not feel complicated.
It came with a good assortment of pieces for car detailing. I use the long nozzle under the hood and in narrow interior gaps, and the other attachments are useful around trim and wheels. Everything arrived together and the setup was quick.
